ABSTRACT

AIM:To study of hypertensive retinopathy and brachial ankle pulse wave velocity (baPWV) correlation.METHODS:Totally 89 cases 140 eyes of patients with hypertensive retinopathy in our hospital from June 2015 to December 2016 and 30 healthy subjects (60 eyes) were selected as the research objects, and were divided into the observation group and the control group, respectively. All of the subjects were examined by direct ophthalmoscope, and the results were classified according to Keith-Wagener four classification.Application of OMRON health care (China) Co.,Ltd.production of BP-203RPE network arteriosclerosis detection device for selected objects of baPWV detection. The levels of baPWV and the results of fundus examination were compared between the two groups, and the correlation between the two methods was analyzed.RESULTS:Detection of baPWV in patients was higher as the hypertension severity increased, there was statistically significant differences between groups (P< 0.05).The retinopathy grade was higher, the baPWV detection value was larger, the detection value of every grade was different statistically with others (P<0.05).CONCLUSION:Elevated blood pressure is closely related to retinopathy and accelerated pulse wave velocity, relationship between the two values is notable, brachial ankle pulse wave velocity can be used to reflect the level of hypertensive retinopathy.

ABSTRACT

OBJECTIVETo explore the possibility of Bacteroides spp. as fecal contamination indicator bacteria with real-time quantitative PCR (RT-PCR) assay through analyzing the correlation between Bacteroides spp. and coliform group in external environment.

METHODSQuantity of coliform group and Bacteroides in water samples were detected by most-probable-number method (MPN) and RT-PCR, respectively, and their detection correlation was evaluated with linear correlation analysis. Both methods were also applied to detect the contaminated time limits and river water samples collected at four sampling sites in three different times.

RESULTSSeventy two hours were needed for the numeration of coliform group with MPN method, while RT-PCR could detect Bacteroides within 3 hours. The contaminated time limit of indoor and outdoor water samples of coliform group was more than 40 days and 9 days, and Bacteroides 13 days and 5 days, respectively. Also, the positive correlation between the quantity of Bacteroides and coliform group in outdoor water samples was obtained, the quantity of Bacteroides was from 8.3 × 10(6) copies/ml to less than 10(4) copies/ml during the first day to the fifth day, while coliform group was 4.3 × 10(6) MPN/100 ml to 2.4 × 10(3) MPN/100 ml. A 100% coincidence rate of the detection results with both methods was also observed. These results indicated that the detection results of both methods had perfect consistency.

CONCLUSIONBacteroides spp. can be potentially used as fecal contamination indicator bacteria with RT-PCR rapid detection.

ABSTRACT

Three bactreiophages of Pseudomonas aeruginosa were isolated from sewage and named as PaP1, PaP2 and PaP3. All belong to double-strand DNA phages, their genome is about 47kb, 34kb and 24kb respectively. The titre (pfu/mL) of three phages is respectively 109, 1011 and 1011, PaP1 is lytic phage, both PaP2 and PaP3 are lysogenic. Under electron microscope, All show icosahedral heads with diameter of 70nm, 55nm and 65nm respectively. PaPl belongs taxonomically to Myoviridae, and both of PaP2 and PaP3 belong to Pedoviridae. The phage-re-sistance and substitution phenomenon of the resistant flora for the sensitive were observed, and the mutation frequence of Pseudomonas aeruginosa resistant to the phage is about 1.4 ? 10-7 ~ 7.9 ?10-7 determined by end-point -titer method.
